Deering Mahogany Banjo Stand

This banjo stand is a must have. It’s not just a great stand, it’s a beautiful piece of furniture. I love having my banjo out on display at all times now.

After returning a couple of stands I had purchased for my Deering Calico, I ordered this one. It’s on the pricey side but honestly, it’s a beautiful piece of furniture and holds/displays my banjo firmly. I love it.

was easily able to shorten it by 4 inches from the top by drilling a new hole, relocating the self tapping fastener and cutting 4 inches off the top. Since it’s solid mahogany, I only had to use the supplied mineral oil to make it color matched where it was sawed. Perfect!! Zither may consider making them all 4 inches shorter and offering a taller one for the long-neck instruments.

Excellent quality but, I got a deering tenor banjo and the hook barely fits the neck. I have to kinda shimmy it into place and twist the banjo neck sideways to remove it. I would assume this stand is exclusively for bluegrass banjos that have the slimmer neck. I’m not disappointed tho because it is a beautiful piece!

I have a long-neck banjo that was made of me when I was 16 by a neighbor’s friend. I played it a lot while I was younger but as I have gotten older my figures just aren’t as nimble. After storing it in my case of years I saw this stand and ordered it right away. It’s now in my living room so others can see my hand crafted beauty.
