Arch Top Banjo

I am building an arch top open back banjo accented in black. I’ve been looking for a source for a black matte low profile head and found one offered by Deering. Matte black banjo head

It looks nice, but it is not as black as I had hoped. There is a slight grayish hue to it. I have not put it on my banjo yet.

Black Matte Banjo Head

Excellent banjo head! The Matte Black looks amazing and the sound quality is perfect! Has a milder tone compared to the gloss black “ebony” head from Remo. Also looks better!

GREAT LOOKING AND SOUNDING BANJO HEAD

I've never used a black banjo head before.I'm glad I ordered this one from Deering.It looks great on my Deering Sierra mahogany banjo with the ebony fretboard.I like the milder tone results too.This head takes some of the edge off the banjo's high frequency tone,for a slightly darker sound with more bass.
