The hooks seem to work as they should taking the necessary tension to give the best sound. The replacement hooks had a bit more hook to them than the originals and grab the rim better or at least appear to do so.

Q: Overall length and thread size, please. Also, are nuts available and in what style (open or ball end) and what is the distance across the flats? Restoring a circa 1906 Vega built but not Vega marked A.C. Fairbanks Whyte Laydie that someone put J-hooks on, which are not correct for a grooved tension hoop.Thank you for your time.
