written on the order form in the package, yet they still sent the wrong ones! I ended up having to send them back and they sent me a set of the correct picks. At least they covered the additional shipping.
The real issue came when the correct picks came. It became evident that under Pro Pik’s new management, they do NOT know how to work with the stainless steel. It seems to be thinner and of a softer, lesser quality alloy perhaps?
As if that wasn’t enough, there was literally a BURR on the end of the blade of one of the picks. This rendered that pick completely useless as it would catch on the strings when I played. Evidently, they must’ve not polished them well enough to remove any imperfections. Another clue to this is that the metal just wasn’t as shiny as you would expect from high quality stainless steel pick, and had an overall dull appearance.
The only reason I’m giving this two stars instead of one is that I did end up being able to use them. I just used a bit of 2000 grit sandpaper to take the rough edges off. I plan to use a buffing wheel as soon as possible to finish polishing it up. This is a lot of additional work to do for a set of picks that retail for $22.
I truly hope they try harder to revive and uphold the stellar reputation Pro Pik had when they were a private company; but so far it has been disastrous. Don’t even get me started on the scatchy abomination that is the “Super Tone Thumbpick”. For an American company, I expect better. Read LessRead less about I will preface this by saying that I
Stainless steel picks are perfect if you have an allergy to nickel; the sound is clean and still warm.
