igh-end 5-string banjo. Plus it has nicer tone than any other 6-string banjo. It's louder than any 6-string banjo as well, except maybe the B-6.
It's also built like a tank and very easy to tweak back into optimum playing shape if moving, traveling, altitude, humidity changes, or neglect have any effect on the setup.
One potential downside is that all that extra metal that adds to the volume also adds to the weight. Carrying it around - even holding it to play it - is not for wimps.
Also, kudos to Deering for not bowing to pressure from people who think they are the only "true" banjo players in the world and calling it a "Banjitar" or something silly. Six-string banjos have been around since the early Jazz age - in fact they predate the Jazz guitar. They're not hybrid guitars (any more than 4-string guitars that use banjo tunings are hybrid banjos).
