5th string tuner

I replaced the one on my Goodtime Americana because it was turning in it's hole. To do that I had to work on the hole (make it a little bigger and make a slot in it). It's a great tuner and works real precise.

5th string tuner knob

The knob broke off my 5th string tuner. I ordered that part off the website. What I received was completely different and didn’t fit. I reported this to customer service and was told I’d have to buy a whole new tuner just to get the knob. That seems unreasonable to me. 217-691-3457.

Q: I have a goodtime classic with planetary tuners. The knob on the 5th string tuner is cracked. Is a replacement knob available, or is it simpler to just replace the tuner? If I replace the tuner, which one do I need? The one for goodtime banjos?

A: We do not just have tuner buttons. You can purchase the standard goodtime planetary tuner and use the button of of it. Keep the rest until you need it.

Q: I just lost the screw, the one that sticks-out there, looks like a tiny flat-head in the photo here- do you have dimensions for a replacement?

A: NO...that is not a small screw that you can just "buy" at a hardware store. And as we get the tuners as completed units, I don't have spare ones to sell. You would need to buy a new tuner.
