The Kevlar head is fantastic.
Review by Jaime A. on 20 Jun 2021 review stating The Kevlar head is fantastic.
The Kevlar head is fantastic. My Maple Blossom has never sounded this good. I set the tension to 92 and it sounds loud and is extremely clear across the low and high strings.

Kevlar banjo head
Review by Logan P. on 7 Jun 2020 review stating Kevlar banjo head
This banjo head makes my banjo sound soooooooo much better. The notes are clean and crisp. It’s a flathead, so it doesn’t really sound like an archtop. It’s in between the two. I got this head way tighter than the usual Mylar heads also. My bridge doesn’t sag or cut into the head on the corners, that’s how tight it is. It’s really nice.

works great
Review by George C. on 4 Dec 2019 review stating works great
Put this kevlar high crown head on a 2001 Sierra, It sounds just great. It seems to have more volume than before. I really like the tone of this head. It is brighter than the regular head.

Kevlar Banjo Head
Review by Stephan J. on 19 Jul 2017 review stating Kevlar Banjo Head
I replaced my Weather King head with the Kevlar head looking to brighten up the tone of my Gold Star banjo and to get a right-hand feel to the strings which more closely resembles that of an archtop banjo. It took some tweaking, but my objectives were accomplished. Great product (especially if you are a Stanley Brothers aficionado).

Strong Head
Review by Jason L. on 8 Dec 2015 review stating Strong Head
I play a six string banjo and this head stands up to the tension put on it very well. It plays loud and almost has a plectrum banjo sound when played high on the neck. It does have less bass tones in it but for trad jazz that works in my favor.

Q: I want to get a new head for my Boston 6. What's the difference between "high" and "medium" crowns?

A: If your banjo was made prior to 2006, you need a high crown for ease of install. If newer (made after 2006) use medium crown.
