Lucas Ross

Lucas is an actor/comedian/musician and beekeepers' son from Minco, Oklahoma. He is a 7-time Heartland EMMY-Winner as well as winner of a national EMMY for on-air performance for Oklahoma’s KFOR-TV.

Lucas has appeared in feature films, and national television on THE TONIGHT SHOW, MURDER MADE ME FAMOUS, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and DISNEY CHANNEL. He won “Best Comedy Actor” for multi-character performances in LAZY CIRCLES an Oklahoma-based comedy co-produced with his brother, Marcus. Lucas played banjo on screen in MARTIN SCORSESE’s KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON and worked alongside MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY and KURT RUSSELL in the upcoming film, RIVALS OF AMZIAH KING. He currently holds the title of ‘banjo advisor to KERMIT THE FROG’ providing banjo tracks for Disney’s THE MUPPETS STUDIOS. Lucas wrote and performed original song, “Kermit Day,” for ORIS WATCHES and provided banjo entertainment at New York City’s MUSEUM OF THE MOVING IMAGE for JIM HENSON’s 87th birthday celebration. Lucas played banjo live for Kermit, as the famous amphibian duetted with WILLIE NELSON at the 2024 Luck Reunion festival.

Lucas has worked on stage with “WEIRD AL” YANKOVIC, ROBERT PICARDO, BÉLA FLECK, WILLIE NELSON and KERMIT THE FROG as well as with the OKLAHOMA PHILHARMONIC and OKLAHOMA COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA under direction of legendary DR. IRVIN WAGNER. He is a Deering Banjo artist and has released 5 banjo albums: “Son of a Beekeeper,” “Banjo Farm,” “Banjos in Space,” “Aubrie and Lucas,” which he recorded with his wife, and “There Will Be Banjo: Lucas Ross Live at the Oklahoma Opry!”

When he’s not making TV, Lucas can be found at the AMERICAN BANJO MUSEUM in Bricktown, OKC as their Community Outreach and Promotions Coordinator where he develops educational programs, leads their award-winning “Pick-a-Tune” class, and appears alongside KERMIT THE FROG in their ‘Banjo Roots’ program.

Lucas is married to Aubrie who directs the non-profit HEARTBEAT FOR HOPE, bringing aid and education to children in Ghana, Africa. They have two musical children and two mischievous dogs.
