Deering banjo head revived my '64 Gibson RB250

I have replaced the head on my GDL and have been very pleased with the fit, finish and response of the Deering banjo head. Most recently I have upgraded the head on a 1964 Gibson RB250 and have been extremely impressed. The Deering 11" high crown top frosted head fits like a glove and the old Gibson sounds brand new again!

Strings received were bent

The strings I received were a little squished and bent. I still installed them and they appear to work but I can still see the bent marks on the strings.

A: The Vega is a December of 2010 and the Sierra is a January of 2009; both will use a medium crown head.

A: You need a medium crown head. Sorry...I don't have that conversion rate for you but you should be able to find it online. A medium crown head is 7/16" and a high crown head is 1/2".

A: The Ranger is a vintage Vega. You would have to check the diameter of your existing head as we only carry the 11" diameter in high (1/2") or medium (7/16") crown height.

A: You have to measure the one you have on it...high crown is 1/2" and the medium is 7/16". You measure from the top of the aluminum edge of the banjo head to the top flat surface of your head.
