Renaissance Banjo Head

Bought the 11” high crown to replace the frosted white head on my blonde Goodtime banjo. Absolutely love the sound now! Took away some of the brightness. I play old time two finger banjo, and this head is perfect for that style. The color looks great with my banjo, and I love how I can see the rim of the pot through the head now.

The banjo head was high quality. It was easy to order. The order was timely filled. I regret that I have to return the head because I measured incorrectly.

I put this new head on my Deering goodtime. Wow what a difference it made. It sounds like a banjo that has a tone ring. And, it increased the sustain like you wouldn't believe. Huge improvement for such a small investment!

A nice change from the standard top frosted head for my Vega2 open back. A much reduced brightness, which is what I was looking for.

The heads description is misleading. It is not opaque white but translucent grey. It appears to be a Remo Renaissance head with a Deering label, different description and higher price. Next time I want such a head I will buy straight Remo or Elite Stew Mac’s brand for the identical head.

The Renaissance head was the perfect compromise to upgrade from the muffled Fiberskyn yet still retain the Olde Tyme Wonder Charisma

Got to say, a new banjo head makes a world of difference. Just like new strings, a banjo head adds crispness and tonal qualities you didn't know you were missing.
