Q: How/where do you install a strap button on a Solana 6? Are there strap buttons available? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

A: No strap buttons on banjos. You use the 16 hooks around the rim of the banjo head to attach your strap.

Q: I was not clear with my head change question below. I am familiar with head changes. My question is specific to the Solana signal pick up connection to the bridge. How is the back side connected to the bridge on top? and then what needs to be done with these connections when the head is changed?

A: They are not physically connected...the pickup is mounted using a sticky pad on the underside of the head. Take a good look before you remove the head...it is mounted towards the top edge of the bridge plate, closest to the peghead direction ON THE UNDERSIDE of the banjo head. No actual physical connection.

Q: If one were to change the head, what must be done with the bridge on top and connections on the back side?

A: To change the banjo head, you would have to remove the bridge and bridge plate and loosen all the hex nuts on the hooks so that it can all come off. This method is explained quite nicely on our banjo head video on the site. Please review the video and let us know if you have any further questions.

Q: hello im having a very hard time getting the intonation right on my Solana 6,i have have played with the bridge for countless hrs just cannot get it quite right,i have noticed the head is a little sunk in below the bridge plate ,I can notice a small hump on the back side, I have tightened the head but still no luck and the hump is still there, seems to be very little info out there,i really love this instrument it is a joy to play but the intonation issue is driving me nuts I could use some help

A: 1. Double check that your head tension is firm...check hex nuts to see if any of them are loose.
2. Make sure the bridge is in the right place on the neck; double check with harmonics at the 12 fret.
3. Make sure that the bridge is in the MIDDLE of the bridge plate while still remaining in place harmonically.
Contact me at carolinabridges@deeringbanjos.com; 800-845-7791 if you need more help.

Q: My guitar tech glued the bridge to the rosewood plate. Is this a problem? If so, can I order a new bridge and the rosewood plate for the Solana 6

A: Yes, you can order that. I believe it was recently added to the website but if not, call the toll free number to get it; 800-845-7791. It is a $50 charge for both pieces. It should be ok glued together as you will just make it so you will have to move both pieces for intonation purposes.
